Job #5919
this Carve 161 had spent most of its
life in South Texas, with heat and humidity wreaking havoc with the Acrylic
"sealer" over the lovely veneer on deck, allowing moisture into the veneer,
causing splits and stains |
so I sanded it all off |
mixed up a batch of Penetrating Epoxy |
and sealed the veneer |
then mixed up a batch of UV-stabilized
clear Epoxy |
and re-did the non-skid, using Acrylic Dust, just as
Starboard had done |
the bottom shows some veneer cracks, but is good,
structurally, and tight into the core |
a nice fin comes with it |
Return to assorted repairs |
